Candle care and safety tips
How to care for your candles
- trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each burn to prevent excessive smoking and mushrooming. This ensures a clean, consistent flame and extends your candles life.
- Burn your candles for 2-4 hours at a time to allow the wax to melt evenly. This prevents tunneling and helps your candles last longer.
- keep away from drafts. Place your candle away from windows, doors, and fans. Drafts can cause uneven burning and soot build up on the jars.
- let the wax cool completely. Always allow the wax to cool and solidify between burns before relighting. Never move a burning candle or one with hot wax.
- use a proper surface. Always place your candle on a stable, heat resistant surface. Avoid placing directly on wooden furniture or near flammable materials.
- know when to stop. Stop burning your candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains at the bottom. Burning past this point can cause the jar to overheat, potentially crack, or even shatter.
